Aglardh feedback and feature requests

If you find any bugs on Aglardh please feel free to flag them here.

Also if you would like some functionality added, let me know. Drupal has a vast array of extension modules so chances are we can figure out something.

RSS for the main site is working, but not for the forums. Some kind of notification for new posts (rss and/or email) would be extremely helpful.

Also, I seem to have access to creating news posts and site pages. I don’t have any objections to this, but I wanted to point it out in case it was accidental rather than deliberate

Yes, the intention is that registered users can create articles/blog posts, books/book pages, and forum topics, and of course comment on all those.

I will look into the RSS thing, at the moment I can't see any seting that would allow me to include forum topics in the aggregation, but I'll dig further.

There is an issue with the CSS or code of the site I need to figure out - currently the 'read more' links don't appear below the posts on the front page for some reason.

Until that is fixed, people need to click on the title of the post to access the full content.

I can see the RSS now, but Feedly still doesn't recognize it.

It could be a caching problem on the Feedly side, though. I will try again in a couple days to see whether the issue clears up.

Images don't seem to work, I can upload an image to my profile for instance, but can't see it. Will have to peek around in the settings.

EDIT: I think they work now

So I tried tengwar support today, and it works! Nice!

Unfortunately, it uses a <div> instead of a <span>, when means the tengwar are always in their own paragraph. I'd like to be able to embed tengwar inline. Is there a way you can change this to a <span>?

Also, thanks for the +1. I will experiment with that as well.

The comment RSS seems to be working now.

I’m having some problems with the CSS styles you are using for table headers <th>. The small ALLCAPS looks nice for the forum tables, but is kind of limiting in other contexts.

Hey Tamas, I just noticed Aglardh doesn't support HTTPS. Nowadays this is a big problem. Google ranks sites without HTTPS very low in search rankings. They almost never show up in search results. I'd like for people to be able to find Aglardh easily, and switching to HTTPS could help publicize the site.

I made the switch about a year ago for Eldamo, and both Real Elvish and Parf Edhellen also use HTTPS.

There a lots of places now that offer free SSL certificates. My web hosting provider gives me one automatically for eldamo.org. I don’t know what your hosting setup is like, but if you dig around you may be able to configure one to be auto-generated for you.

I need to change my webhosting package which I will do as soon as I make a backup of my files. It will involve moving everything to another server space (by my provider, not me), during which Aglardh may be unavailable.

The https works great, but you should also see if you can configure your site to automatically redirect all http urls to https. This is another thing Google checks for search ranking.
