Hi Folks,

do you think hoeria- / heria- "to be compelled, have an impulse" would be used impersonal?

The same applies to pessa- "it affects, concerns me". Could one say, e.g. "Pessa enni" "I'm worried"?

My assumptions for saying that it might be impersonal are based on Tolkien's specific gloss in the Etymologies:

[N] pesso, ON persós "it affects, concerns me"

In my opinion this points to an impersonal form. "Im pessanen" sounds like an Anglicism to me anyway.

Which entry is it in the Etym.? Your qoute does point to impersonal form. I hadn't thought of "Im pessannen" that way (as an Anglicism, perhaps because English is my native language), it just seemed easier.
