Here are two translations of poems by Emily Dickinson

Oron hamne palaresse
Hammarya oirasse,
Henduryat ilucenye,
Surierya ilumende.

Astar arcaner os occaryat,
Ve híni os herunta:
Auri nar inyoryar,
Nosseryo ná i ára.

The mountain sat upon the plain
In his eternal chair,
His observation omnifold,
His inquest everywhere.

The seasons prayed around his knees,
Like children round a sire:
Grandfather of the days is he,
Of dawn the ancestor.

I died for Beauty - but was scarce
Adjusted in the Tomb
When One who died for Truth, was lain
In an adjoining Room -

He questioned softly "Why I failed"?
"For Beauty", I replied -
"And I - for Truth - Themself are One -
We Brethren, are", He said -

And so, as Kinsmen, met a Night
We talked between the Rooms-
Until the Moss had reached our lips
and covered up - our names-

Oreramar,

Simple vocabulary questions regarding the first of these...

Could you explain the construction of the words 'ilucenye' and 'ilumende' for me?

Also, where do you get *os as "around"? I've never seen this before.

Also, could you break down "inyoryar" for me?

Hopefully that will clear things up and I will get to the next one soon.

Hi Bob,

'ilucenye' = of allsight, seeing everything, constructed like 'apacenye'
of foresight.

'ilumende' from _ilu_ all, the whole and _men_ in the locative.

_os-_ is in the Etymologies the stem for 'round, about'.

_inyo_ you find in the wordlist under _indyo_ = grandchild, descendant.
