RL Stevenson: Requiem

Firielinde

Nu i landa elenya ilmen,
Sapa i *sapta ta núta inye.
Merya oinen merya firnen,
Ar nukainenye ó sina nirme.

Á kerta sina líre pa i ondo:
Kaitasse sis yasse merne;
Sisse i kiryando, marde earello
Sisse i *farar i ambollo marde.

Under the wide and starry sky,
Dig the grave and let me lie.
Glad did I live and gladly die,
And I laid me down with a will.

This is the verse you grave for me:
‘Here he lies where he longed to be;
Here is the sailor, home from the sea,
And the hunter home from the hill.’

Robert Louis Stevenson

sapta n. “grave”, see https://eldamo.org/content/words/word-460017731.html?neo
